Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how on8, a sole proprietorship (“on8,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the on8 mobile app and the on8 editor web app (together, the “Service”). on8 is a done-for-you short-form content service: athletes record short videos, human editors edit them, and athletes review and post the finished cuts.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address (for athletes signing in with Apple, this may be an Apple private-relay address) and your display name. Editors and admins sign in with an email and password.
• Profile and “brand kit.” Your niche/creator type and the style information you provide during onboarding — for example your preferred vibe, caption tone, the public reference accounts you admire, your visual brand (text style and colors), and what you tell our AI assistant about yourself, your audience, and your goals.
• Notes about your taste. Standing notes you write for the AI assistant, and a short summary we generate from which ideas you save and which you pass on (including the reason you give for passing). This is used to make future suggestions fit you better.
• Content you submit. The video footage you record or upload, photos you add to carousel posts, voiceovers you record in the app, the ideas and briefs you create, captions, notes to your editor, and the finished cuts delivered back to you.
• Conversations with the AI assistant. Messages you exchange with our in-app assistant are stored on your account so the conversation persists between sessions.
• Usage and pipeline data. Your projects, their status, your credit balance and history, review actions (approve / request revision), and a count of your daily AI requests, which we use to apply usage limits.
• Payment information. Subscriptions bought in the iOS app are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We never see or store your card details; we receive a transaction identifier from Apple and record your plan and subscription status. Some earlier subscriptions were processed by Stripe, for which we retain a customer identifier and subscription status. Editor payouts use Wise; editors provide payout details for that purpose.
• Diagnostics. Basic technical data and crash reports (via Sentry) so we can find and fix problems in the app. on8 does not send push notifications and does not collect a push token.

Camera, microphone, photos, and speech

• Camera and microphone. Used to record footage and voiceovers in the app. Recording only happens when you start it.
• Photos. With your permission, we read photos you choose for carousel posts and can save finished content back to your photo library. We access only what you select.
• Speech recognition. If you use the hold-to-talk feature, your device converts your speech to text using Apple’s speech recognition, and we receive only the resulting text. That conversion is performed by the device and by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; we do not receive or store the audio.

How we use information

• To operate the editing pipeline — route your footage to an editor, deliver finished cuts, and let you review and post them.
• To generate content ideas and onboarding guidance using AI (see “AI features” below).
• To manage subscriptions, credits, and editor payouts.
• To send service communications about your account and your projects.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Your video footage

Your raw footage is stored privately and is shared with the editor assigned to your project so they can produce your cut. Editor access is scoped to the projects they are working on and ends when the project is approved. We keep your footage and finished cuts for as long as your account is active, so they remain available to you in the app; deleting your account deletes them (see “Data retention and deletion”).

AI features

on8 uses a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for onboarding coaching, content ideas, and the in-app assistant. What we send depends on the feature:

• Text. Your brand kit, creator profile, taste notes, idea titles and concepts, and the messages you write to the assistant.
• Photos. When you ask the assistant to design a carousel, the photos you chose for that carousel are sent to the AI provider so it can place text where it won’t cover your face or the action. This applies only to photos on a carousel you are designing.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use your content to train third-party AI models. We apply daily limits to AI requests to keep costs and abuse in check.

How we share information

• Editors. To edit your video well, the human editor assigned to your project sees your footage and brief along with the context that shapes the cut: your display name, your brand kit and visual brand, your creator profile, your standing notes to the AI assistant, the summary of your taste described above, and any revision notes you send back. Editors do not see your email address, payment information, or your conversations with the assistant.
• Service providers. We use trusted providers to run the Service, including Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Apple (Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchase, speech recognition), Anthropic (AI), Stripe (payments for earlier subscriptions), Expo (app delivery), Sentry (crash reporting), Vercel (web hosting), and Wise (editor payouts). They process information only to provide their services to us.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of on8, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

on8 works with editors and service providers located in different countries. Your information, including footage shared with an assigned editor, may be processed outside your country of residence.

Data retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete account). Deleting your account removes your profile, brand kit, taste notes, assistant conversations, projects, credit history, subscription record, and your footage and finished cuts from our systems. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, payment records) or in routine backups for a limited period. Deleting your on8 account does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise account deletion directly in the app, or contact us using the details below for other requests.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including private storage buckets, access controls, and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

on8 is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use the Service. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you may use on8 only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Effective” date above.
